Well, it sure has been awhile. Just a little hiccup when you have sick little ones.
Did you notice all that snow outside?? Maybe you're lucky enough to be in bed still, or in the bath, or on the couch with popcorn...can you tell where my head's at?! HA.
Last weekend I had two dates. One with the lovely Arlo, my six year old and one with my husband. Both were so nice. "Real" dates, when you change your clothes before you go out, when grocerry shopping isn't on the agenda, and when you even squirt a punch of perfume on, (I did at least, it could also be because I find it hard to find time for a shower) are few and far between. On the grown-up date, we had the most amazing dinner, in a restaurant that brought us back to feeling like we were living in England again, at my new favorite dinner date spot, the, Peasant Cookery. It's not cheap, so save your pennies, we actually only ordered one entree and shared, always finding new ways to save and be totally romantic at the same time! It was much needed time together to remember just how much we actually like each other.
Date number two was with Arlo. Me and my husband take turns having one on one dates with the older two and this month was mine to take them out. It's a great way to catch up on what's going on in school, to let them know you think about them, or to just plain be silly with them. The point is, it's just you and them, NO distractions.
Before school started this year, we had sat down with them and devised a large list of dates that they had came up with. A few of their ideas include, a bike ride, go for cupcakes, the planetarium, play a board game, go to a movie, etc. My date with Arlo, took us to the Children's Museum, here's some of the fun we had.
This was Arlo's "create a story".
A LOT of time was spent here, building cities, and it really was fun, I think me and arlo have few things in common.
May you find yourself on a wonderful, catching up date night soon too.
LOVE the Peasant Cookery! What did you have? And your photos make me want to go to the Children's Museum, wish I was a kid again!
